ALADDIN THEATER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (March 13, 2000) - Two of the nation's premier concert promoters this week announced an ongoing association with the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts, the legendary Las Vegas venue set for an August 17 rebirth.

Chicago-based Jam Productions and Phoenix's Evening Star Productions have signed on to promote events at the 7,000-seat Aladdin Theater, currently in the midst of a floor-to-ceiling renovation.

Since 1981, Jam and Evening Star have produced more than 250 events in Las Vegas, grossing more than $36 million. Many of those shows took place at the Aladdin Theater, which opened in 1976 with Neil Diamond's first Las Vegas appearance and has since hosted acts as diverse as Pearl Jam, Melissa Etheridge, Alanis Morissette and Phish. During its 22-year run as one of the most prominent performance spaces on the Las Vegas Strip, Aladdin also hosted touring shows and televised events including the 1996 Miss Universe Pageant.

"Jam and Evening Star have brought top-name concerts to Las Vegas for nearly 20 years, and their efforts certainly played a part in reshaping the city's entertainment scene," said Aladdin Senior Vice President of Entertainment David Attaway. "As it has in the past, the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts will benefit from Jam and Evening Star's experience in the market and their ability to attract the industry's top talent."

The theater, still the only venue of its size in the market, can modify its capacity to comfortably accommodate crowds ranging from 2,000 to 7,000. Its current renovation coincides with construction of the brand-new, 2,600-room Aladdin Resort and Casino, set to open this summer in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. The theater was the only structure left standing when the old Aladdin Hotel was imploded in 1998. Aladdin is completely rebuilding the facility, outfitting it with new seating, d?cor and a first-rate light and sound package.

"The Aladdin Theater will boast great sightlines, excellent sound and, just as importantly, a long history as a Las Vegas favorite," noted Evening Star President Danny Zelisko. "It will be great to have the theater back - new, improved and ready for the caliber of concerts that will return it to its long-held legendary status." In addition to the renovated Aladdin Theater, the 34-acre Aladdin resort includes a new 2,600-room hotel; a 100,000-square-foot casino; The London Club at Aladdin, North America's first European-style luxury casino and the 140-store DESERT PASSAGE shopping facility.
