29/01/2001 Horseshoe Gaming suspends ad campaign
Horseshoe Gaming Holding Corporation has decided to suspend a controversial advertising campaign launched this month, after Illinois gaming regulators revealed their displeasure with the campaign.
The Joliet-based casino is no stranger to controversy. Last July, the Illinois Gaming Board declared that Jack Binion, Horseshoe's CEO, was "unfit" to operate his Joliet casino and voted not to renew its license. Regarding the advertising campaign, a spokesman for Minion stated, "Based on some concerns that were brought to our attention, we decided the best course of action to take would be to suspend the ads for the time being."
