| HARRAH'S SOUTHERN NEVADA ANNOUNCES NEW MANAGEMENT CHANGES |
|
11/4/2002 November 04, 2002 LAS VEGAS, NEV. - Harrah's Entertainment, Inc., recently announced new management changes and appointments that will affect Harrah's Southern Nevada properties, Harrah's Las Vegas Casino & Hotel, the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and Harrah's Laughlin Casino & Hotel.
Tom Jenkin, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah's Las Vegas Casino & Hotel/Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, will now serve as general manager of Harrah's Laughlin, in addition to both Las Vegas properties. Jenkin, a member of Harrah's team for 27 years, has been a student of the casino industry, leading and performing duties over the years in a number of crucial business capacities. He has held positions in food and beverage, human resources and gaming operations, and now serves Harrah's in the role of General Manager of Harrah's Laughlin, Las Vegas and The Rio.
Gaye Gullo has been appointed Assistant General Manager of Harrah's Las Vegas. Gullo began her career as a Bus Operations Supervisor, and in the past 16 years has continued to grow her career through a number of additional positions within Harrah's. Gullo played a key role in the opening numerous Harrah's riverboat properties and, most recently, headed up marketing in the Eastern Division.
John Koster, current vice president of hotel operations for Harrah's Las Vegas, will assume the position of Assistant General Manager of Harrah's Laughlin. Koster joined Harrah's in 1998 after serving as the President of the Desert Inn Hotel and Casino. Koster has held key positions for the Sheraton Hotel organization in Australia and Thailand. Koster will replace Bill Keena as the leader of Harrah's Laughlin.
Bill Keena, current senior vice president and general manager of Harrah's Laughlin will move to Harrah's St. Louis, where he will serve as Sr. V.P. and GM of the Harrah's Eastern Division property. Keena is replacing the founding General Manager of Harrah's St. Louis, Vern Jennings, a 24-year Harrah's veteran. As previously announced, Jennings will take on a company-wide role in Government Relations, reporting to Jan Jones.
David Hoenemeyer, vice president of food and beverage/retail at Harrah's Las Vegas, will add hotel operations to his responsibilities. Hoenemeyer joined Harrah's four years ago.
Michael Weaver will add Harrah's Las Vegas to his current responsibilities as Vice President of Marketing at the Rio. Weaver joined Harrah's in 1992 as the opening Marketing Director at Harrah's Shreveport. Weaver replaces Suzanne Trout, who will assume the title of Divisional Vice President of Marketing, Harrah's Eastern Division.
